Ways I’ve made solo, self-employment WFH life a little less lonely:
Weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly catch-ups/coworks with different groups across industries
Eating lunch at the table with my husband, notifications on mute
Popping outside to stand or lie in the grass with my face to the sky
In-person therapy every other week
Walking the dog and stopping to make conversation with neighbors
Scheduling walks with friends to start or end my work day
Talking to myself and narrating out loud what I’m doing
Teaching 1x per week at the local YMCA
All of this doesn’t happen consistently, and it takes mental energy to manage the calendar. Some days I wish I had more white space or social interaction.
Fellow WFH friends, what keeps your solo work from home life satisfying and thriving?
