Another violation of international law. International law, specifically Article 2(4) of the UN Charter, prohibits the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state, making it illegal to attack a country that has not initiated an armed attack, unless authorized by the UN Security Council or acting in self-defense.

Unilaterally attacking another nation is considered an act of war and a violation of both international law and, in the U.S., potentially the War Powers Resolution.
