Knight (Peaky Blinders) was actually the replacement screenwriter, after the original team also walked. I wonder of this film will ever happen, instead joining a list of announced Star Wars projects that are quietly quit: Rogue Squadron (Patty Jenkins), Taika Waititi movie, Benoiff & Weiss trilogy, James Mangold film, Riann Johnson trilogy, Kevin Fiege film, and a J.D. Dillard project. I'd include Colin Trevorrow on that list; Lucasfilm fired him from Episode 9 which directly led to the trainwreck we ended up getting.
At this point, I don't know if you call it mismanagement or malfeasance but Lucasfilm really needs to get its shit together.
