I have noticed how all the people in the US how make some big point of “thinking for themselves” and not listening to what the “elites” or “liberal mainstream media” tells them are exactly the types who when facing right-wing authoritarianism suddenly stops entirely asking questions and “thinking for themselves.”

You are not a brave independent thinking if you voted Trump. You aren’t going against “the system.” It is next level stupid to think a spoiled billionaire like Trump somehow was a challenge to the elite. He was always an embodiment of the worst kinds of elites.

The word “elite” has been so profoundly abused. Somehow it has gotten to the point in the US where billionaires buying politicians are not references as the elites. No, it is people with a brain, education and expert knowledge on a subject that gets called elites. These are people who get influence due to their competence and ability to have insights about important subjects. They are advisors and and speakers on important topics.

Somehow anti-intellectual America has decided people who knows shit is the enemy and somehow the elites oppressing people while weirdly spoiled billionaire raping the kids of working class as somehow on the sides of the average Joe.

I mean… talk about getting fooled?
