By the way, a bit of an unexpected side effect of all this: I’ve been logged out of the Substack app for about a month. Because of two-factor authentication, logging back in requires a code sent to my email, and for whatever reason those emails never arrive. Google seems to filter them somewhere, and they’re not even in spam.

I mentioned the issue to Substack support and they opened a ticket, but there’s no resolution yet. The practical result is that I can’t access Substack from the mobile app at the moment.

So if my replies to comments are a bit slower than usual, that’s the reason. I am still reading them from my laptop, where I still have an active browser session, and I reply when I log in there.

My guess is that services like this are largely automated and probably swamped with support requests, so I won’t complain too loudly.
