This Postpartum Life By Erin Schlozman
What are your thoughts on adding Postpartum Psychosis to the DSM?
The thing with mental health disorders, and mental health diagnoses: most of the time the patient experiencing the symptoms are aware that they are experiencing something different. With Postpartum Psychosis, this isn’t the case. Part of what makes postpartum psychosis different from other mental health diagnoses is that the person experiencing it is not generally able to identify themselves that they are in a mental health crisis. That detail matters more than we want to admit.
