We don't often think of higher education as an export, but Paul Krugman shows just how important having students come to the US to study is to national and local economies.

The lesson here is that as the current regime pursues its vendetta against higher education by targeting international students, the effect will be to shrink the budgets of institutions of higher learning AND damage the economies they support.
