Easy Mince meat & Potato pie
A few days ago I got a phone call from my friend at 6 o'clock in the morning – she lives in Berlin, so it was an early afternoon for her. She is a filmmaker and she called me in a panic: it was Berlinale week and about 20 of her colleagues from all over the world were in town and she had invited them all to dinner at her place... 20 hungry filmmakers! With different dietary requirements. What could she offer them? And as one of her projects involves cooking, she didn't want to order out or take her colleagues to a restaurant. She wanted to impress! But she only had about three hours before the guests arrived. And so, along with a couple of salads, my sleepy mind came up with this simple, quick and delicious recipe, which is easy to adapt for vegans, vegetarians and those with gluten and lactose intolerances – see the “substitutions” section for more. The result was wonderful. My friend's guests were delighted, and the next day she had her deal signed – it wasn't related to the dinner, as the people from that channel weren't at the party, but somehow the word travelled and the magic worked.
