Facebook just reminded me that it’s been exactly 17 years since the Zagreb concert by the William Parker Ensemble, featuring the one and only Amiri Baraka. They performed material from the album that would only be released a year later, I Plan To Stay A Believer: The Inside Songs Of Curtis Mayfield. Like most photos from that time, the quality isn’t great, but this captures a fantastic moment in my personal jazz history.
