Nobody warns you about the week after you "get" AI.
The signals look a lot like workaholism (the socially acceptable addiction), with sleepless nights and obsessive working hours.
I think people who've been working in their field for years are the most vulnerable because they see the gap between what exists and what's now possible. You go from "this is a better Google" to trying to solve every legacy problem in your field in a single weekend.
AI compresses months of work into days, but it still demands high emotional energy.
When you first realized what AI could actually do in your work — did you go through an intense, slightly obsessive phase? And if yes, how did you pull yourself out of it?
