Make money doing the work you believe in

A couple years ago on the hike through the Narrows in Zion National Park in Utah, I made a small discovery. It’s an amazing hike and pretty unique as you are hiking up stream in the water, in some places almost to my shoulders (I am 5’3). The more miles you travel up the less people you start to see. About 5 miles in, I started to notice these bugs in the water. Now I grew up in a capital city, so my knee jerk reaction is to freak out with bugs, but with the years I have come to love and appreciate the outdoors. With this appreciation has come an acceptance of bugs as they are an integral and at times fascinating part of any ecosystem. These bugs I photographed are the rhinoceros beetles which are known for their strength, they can lift 100 times their body weight. To this day I have only seen in Zion and in the Pixar movie ‘Bug’s life’, when I saw them in real life I thought ‘Would you look at that, they ARE real!’. It felt like a small yet joyful discovery Aminus3 Photography
