I probably first became aware of Gall Myrick (whose story is in this issue) when she qualified for the 2001 Foot Locker Cross Country Championships as a high school senior. Her high-level racing career overlapped directly with the years I was traveling to a lot of races. So I knew who she was for years, but it wasn’t until recently that I knew much about her story. It’s incredible what she has accomplished in spite of it all.
