What does home feel like for you?

For us, there’s a sense of calm, normal, the tranquility of a place in the country. Two deer spotted from the kitchen window as the kettle boils for our morning hot water and lemon routine. Logs cut and split so we can light the fire and warm the bones of our old French farmhouse. It’s way too wet to finesse the grounds but a high cut of the front ‘lawn’ immediately makes the place look lived in again. Things we’ve planted taking hold - the eucalyptus, way more resilient than the mimosa trees that Jack Frost caught up with last year … and the jasmine ‘arch’ starting to take shape.

Home is small things … all adding up to make the whole.

It feels good to be home.
