Make money doing the work you believe in

If you know the definition of strawmanning then it can’t be a shock to you that people don’t respond very well to being accused of it; at this point you’ve called me dishonest in about six different ways, obviously I find that really offensive. My position is that Trump’s meddling in the business of the Kennedy Center did not merit the response it received, that the response inflicts material harm on people who’ve done nothing to deserve it, and that the gloating about the Center’s closure is really distasteful. Where your criticism goes awry is in accusing me of not describing the meddling in detail as an underhanded way of intentionally misleading people about its extent, when in fact I don’t mention this because it doesn’t matter. My explicit position is that I think art > politics, full stop. You’re welcome to disagree with that! But the fact that you disagree doesn’t mean I’m trying to mislead you, and sorry, but it actually is very lazy and unfair to sling an accusation like that instead of arguing with me on the merits.
