Dear Readers,

After a considerable silence - I’m back.

To everyone who was kind enough to inquire as to the absence of my weekly posting here, thank you so much for the interest and encouragement to continue on!

My last published post attracted some heat in my “DMs” and while I wouldn’t say I was deterred indefinitely, I did need some time to regroup and define my strategy. Here is a summary of my reflections:

  1. There is considerable irony in my being outspoken about femininity - not inherently very feminine behavior.

    1. In social settings I try to limit sharing my strongly held opinions (primarily in mixed company) - so I suppose this platform is me inviting you into my inner monologue.

  2. It’s okay for me to have opinions not shared by mainstream - and it doesn’t mean I’m coming at opposing viewpoints / being hateful. My thoughts and “takes” are valid as my perspective as an individual and me sharing them here shouldn’t be seen as an attack.

    1. The hardest thing about sharing my writing is the privacy breach. I personally don’t enjoy writing objective/hypothetical (sterile) essays. I enjoy reading memoirs with a purpose. Perhaps “memoir/self-help” is my genre. But that means for me to resonate with my own writing I need to be open and share - which requires a level of vulnerability that is sometimes uncomfortable for me.

  3. Sharing my viewpoints here has prompted some incredible conversations in real life.

  4. It is MUCH easier to talk about these topics in person. I’m able to real-time read and respond to individuals and I often know more of their personal belief structure and life-context. Writing to the void is tough for me some days. There are topics that I write to my younger self - and others that I imagine a dear friend discussing with me over coffee. Please comment/message if you have perspective to share, that’s incredibly helpful!

  5. I believe the discomfort is worth it and there’s a need - at least for now - for my musings.

I’m really excited to resume our regularly scheduled program of Tuesday writings here on Substack - and if you have Nostr I’ll be loosening up on my reluctance to share so find me on there if so inclined. Twitter isn’t really my vibe - and perhaps I’ll write about the masculine incentive model of Twitter at a later date.

In the meantime, please feel free to unsubscribe if you’re in the wrong place - and if you subscribed in the last few months, welcome!

I’m here to share about my personal journey of cultivating femininity and my frustrations and learnings along the way.

See you Tuesday <3
