This article should be the beginning of a conversation. However, I talk to a lot of love sick young Zoomers and this doesn’t match what they tell me. In fact, if any young guy said that his bar for “wife material” was “being a baker” or “knowing theology”, he would get laughed out of the room by any group of religious men that I’ve ever been around.
Since we have talked a lot about women’s standards, I guess turn around is fair play. For men, marriageability comes down to an avoiding a very specific set of red flags, what I call the “five Os”

Really, it’s amazing how many modern girls this disqualifies.
Are these standards too high? Maybe. But I would doubt many women would want their sons to marry a woman who had even one of these red flags counting against her. Each is an enormous liability for a man who wants to start and family and live inside a tradition.
