It looks like Walt Bismark wrote a response to the excellent . However, for some reason, he spends the majority of his article complaining about me being mean on Twitter and being a “religious extremist” (by which I think Walt means that I am religious and disagree with him).
I have been looking to talk to Walt Bismark for a while, but it is difficult to find a topic, mostly because it seems that his positions keep shifting. I guess never being nailed down is part of his aesthetic. I respect that in an artistic sense, but it makes talking about ideas almost impossible.
From what I can tell Walt is really into this idea of “openness” being the ultimate good, which it is in some circumstances. But it’s pretty clear from experience that more openness is not always better.
To take a recent example from the life of one, Steven Bonnell, insisting that your marriage be “closed” and that your wife not sleep with other men is certainly less “open” but pretty obviously the wiser way to manage your relationship.
I am also not sure how Walt expects to manage a coalition when his political opinions seem to sway depending on the latest person who has been nice to him online. Why would I transfer power or money to a coalition leader who was likely to change their position as soon as they came in contact with a sweet-talking enemy lobbyist?
There are a lot of mysteries here, but maybe we can hash them out sometime in conversation. My schedule has been unbelievably busy with personal things (hence the low content on this site). However, when my time frees up I certainly would be open to talk. ;)
