Let’s hear from the CEO of McKinsey, Bob Sternfels. In January 2026 he ‘announced’ on the All In podcast that McKinsey now has 60,000 employees—25,000 of whom are AI agents. Sternfels says he expects the number of AI agents to equal the number of human employees by end of year, and says he wants every human employee “enabled by at least one or more agents.” He then goes on to boast that McKinsey “saved” 1.5 million hours in “search and synthesis” work in the past year through AI. McKinsey has also deployed a chatbot to run… graduate recruitment. It is also talking about this in client materials, natch.
