One challenge with asking that everything be evidence-informed is that it’s very easy to do a google search and find some sort of research to back lots of different teaching practices.

The stuff that the broad science of learning community sees as evidence-informed is very different from what you see and hear about in typical schools. The “evidence” is all over the place, everyone thinks what they’re doing is evidence-informed. I went through some PD a few years ago that told us jigsaw activities are one of the most powerful teaching tools because they have a high effect size in Hattie’s work. And they do! But that’s very different from what I would see as solid, evidence-informed practice.

"Do no harm" (primum non nocere) should be a fundamental ethical principle in education that prescribes that teachers and administrators should not harm students when providing education. This means that pedagogical and technological interventions should be evidence-informed and not based on opinions/philosophy and carefully weighed, with the potential benefits outweighing the risks of harm.
