The app for independent voices

I always feel a bit weird when I read stuff like this.

I liked the blog by SoL in the Wild this conversation was based on. I've been influenced by a lot of the same research.

But I don't think I can honestly say that my classroom has been “transformed.” It's been multiple years for me and progress is slow. It's often two steps forward, one step back.

Maybe I'm doing it wrong. I don't know. The post has lots of great advice that I agree with. I'd just be cautious about promising too much to teachers considering this type of teaching. Lots of perfectly reasonable teachers could try these practices, not see short-term progress, and get disillusioned.

(Caveat: the interview is behind the paywall so I'm basing this take on the section before the fold and the linked blog, maybe they get into this idea in their conversation.)
