Lots of discourse on classroom technology. A backlash, maybe a backlash to the backlash.
I’ve been tech-free for a few months now. Had conferences with families this week. Literally zero families mentioned technology, for or against. This is a big deal to the chattering class but my sense is that regular people don’t care very much.
That reflects one feeling I have: I prefer being tech-free and I’m sticking with it for now. I also don’t think reducing technology use will save us, or cause a large increase in student achievement. It’s one of many, many things that matters in schools. We should try to get technology right but also not let technology decisions overshadow everything else that matters in schools.
