Lots of folks coming after i-Ready these days! And look, I hate i-Ready and I’m broadly supportive of the growing anti-tech crusade.
But the thesis of this post is that there isn’t good, high-quality evidence that i-Ready helps students learn. That’s also true of pretty much all the pencil-and-paper-driven alternatives we might consider!
This is a big issue in education: vanishingly few independent, rigorous, high-quality evaluations of the commercial programs that schools adopt.
