In times like these, when private credit is being questioned, when Jamie Dimon talks about “cockroaches in the system,” when the Jeffrey Epstein scandal is once again being linked to my Apollo Global shares, I look even more closely at the facts and refuse to be distracted by headlines.
Is Apollo a company that has consistently lived by the mantra “purchase price matters” since its founding in 1990? The answer is yes.
Is Apollo a company that has aligned its incentives properly and created strong, positive alignment not only at the management level but also across the organization? The answer is also yes.
Is Apollo a company that thinks short-term, chasing quick profits and short-lived stock stories? The answer is no.
Is Apollo a company that has most likely structured its private credit business to meet the long-term needs of its fully integrated insurance platforms? The answer is yes.
Is it an opportunity when narratives, negative press, and emotions push a stock down, for a long-term investor who keeps seeing the bigger picture and doesn’t get lost in irrelevant noise to add more? The answer is yes.
Did I buy more? The answer is yes.
Does Apollo pay me for this? The answer is no :)
