My thesis is that onshoring and risingnationalization will continue, making copper an even more strategic national security asset than oil.

Instead of following him into Southern Copper, I would likely choose Freeport-McMoRan. The balance sheet and costs may be slightly weaker, but you get a cleaner American ownership structure without Mexican government and narco risk.
