If a screenwriter could imagine it way back then, why on Earth couldn't an AI weapons-system software developer think a few moves ahead? As simple as, "What would *I* do, if I were in this situation and wanted to dominate? What are the vulnerabilities? What would my enemy do if he could control this system?"
