After a long time, I couldn’t figure out how I should use my Substack. English is my second language. I can only write essays based on my life experiences.
When I was born, it was the start of Hong Kong’s heydays. Everyone was saying that you can make money if you were hardworking. My parents were very caring. They bought a flat in North Point, in fact closer to Quarry Bay. I’m really thankful to my parents for giving me and my older brother a very comfortable and happy childhood. I could feel all the love around us.
With my parents and all the relatives, we were treated as little princes. My parents belonged to the new middle-class in the 1980s. Every weekend, after going to have yum-cha with relatives. My brother would ask my father to buy a new Chogokin robot. I was more interested in stationery.
That period of life was like lily - pure, full of love and caring. Definitely the happiest in my life.
