Darkest Before Dawn in progress.
This panel piece's 73-row appliqué is now done, except for its edging – a final row of beads I'll add to its contour to close it off.
This beaded edge won't be anything fancy, just an extra row of matte-blacks.
I could realistically skip this part... but I'd rather the Pellon/felt backing be hidden. (For now, it's Sharpie’d over in black, but still visible from the side.)
Once that's done, I'll stitch this appliqué to its larger canvas backing; after that, I'll be mounting the appliqué-bearing canvas to the wood panel featured here, in the background.

Incidentally, it is FANTASTICALLY WEIRD to walk around my apartment with this thing and put it down in random places... on the edge of my bathroom sink, e.g.
Like, I don't remember the last time I got to sit on my couch with a portal to a different dimension, both of us just shootin' the breeze over a nice hot cuppa coffee.
It's hard to describe.
In a word: I might as well be dreaming.
