get a notification on my phone that it is time to complete my Week Ahead planning routine (or weekly reset if you will)
I collect all my receipts from the week from all my receipt drop locations
I open my accounting spreadsheet and reconcile my receipts and enter my transactions for the 7 days that have passed
It takes about 10-15 minutes since I just catch up on one week at a time
I file the receipt in its appropriate filing binder

Tax season is a pain in the ass. But the filing routine I have developed has made the entire process incredibly easy and organized. I feel on top of things every year, and the system contributes to my organization practices far beyond just tax preparation.
