Dave, I don’t really think there’s enough (yet) for a follow-up article by me, but I generally object to the notion that nothing is lost in translation when something is “being mainstreamed”. You understand the difference between Wu-Tang Clan and Vanilla Ice. Do you think Chuck D was hi-fiving Flava Flav and saying “our ideas won” when MC Hammer hit number 1? The thing has been transmuted into something else, and often the something else is the polar opposite of what we stood for and wanted, serving some other agenda as window dressing.

Here we see the main problem with Katherine Dee ’s idea of an emerging “post-right” scene. Namely, the issue remains that these post-right figures share very little in common with each other politically or ideologically, other than their beefs with the so called “dissident right”.
