More than 100 people gathered at First Baptist Church on Highland Avenue for a clear, urgent message: voting is not optional if we want representation that reflects our community.

At the Lift Every Vote meeting, local leaders, clergy, and advocates spoke plainly about what is at stake for Black voters in Winston-Salem and Forsyth County — from voter turnout to the Census to reaching younger voters where they actually are.

This one is worth reading, especially Rev. Chad Armstrong’s admonition that we don’t need more “travel agents.” We actually need more “tour guides.”
