Perhaps the most revealing aspect of this poster exhibit was the treatment big businesses during Mussolini’s regime adopted in publicizing their products. Yes, their style reflected much of Italian Futurist art, but their messaging as well dovetailed with fascists’ promotion of nationalism. On display at Poster House on the museum’s lower level are posters that were designed to promote U.S. National Parks in their early days. With the current scrubbing of many references to inclusivity in educational materials at U.S. parks, the exhibit allows for comparison on how park themes were presented nearly a century ago.
