I like the Wheel of Time series on Prime, but some of the writing is so lazy and cliché. In episode 2 of the new season, a princess sneaks in to try on her mother’s crown. She’s startled by someone she didn’t expect, who says, “It looks good one you.” She says, “I didn’t hear you come in.” And so on. You know exactly how the rest of the exchange went because it’s been done a hundred million times in other shows and movies. It’s far from the only example in the series too. Why waste precious screen time on this stuff? Do something new.
