can anyone explain why my feed has suddenly been overtaken by people I do not recognize?

Usually, most of the posts here are folks I subscribe to or folks I have often read and liked their stuff… but suddenly tonight, I started getting more posts from people I never heard of than people I recognize…

what’s up with that?
