I think the question that would be constructive right now is, if it WAS true that it's becoming materially more difficult for white men to break into competitive and desirable fields like writing, film, music, media, academia, etc, would you think that was a good thing? Is that or is that not the goal of the decade-plus of diversity efforts we just lived through?

I just can't listen to the “that isn't happening, but it's good that it happened” thing anymore. I can't do it. It's so useless. Do you want that to be the case, regardless of whether it is currently the case?
