This is the header image for my post tomorrow. The top screencap is from the first season of Stranger Things, the bottom is from the latest and last season. As you can see, in between Netflix developed its horrible cinematography rules. The first season is moody, atmospheric, and looks like a million bucks. The later seasons are overlit, overly sharp, overly saturated, as well as sterile, flat, and boring. Characters are forever standing in horizontal lines at the exact same depth in camera. It’s all such a drag.
