What I was talking about - dozens of diversity pledges were made in publishing in that era. Fair enough. I’m not opposed to those efforts. What’s bizarre is a) the industry said it was going to do this, b) the books being published have radically changed since, and yet c) if you admit any of this happened, you get mockery or anger. But I’m just pointing out that the industry said it was gonna do this and did it! Pure kayfabe.
