Bravo star Lindsay Hubbard resharing my Instagram story means a lot! And not just because I’m a longtime fan of hers on Summer House. I’ve lately been thinking of my backlist—and trying to shake off the publishing industry mindset that books only matter in the immediate weeks of release.

When I saw parallels between Lindsay’s refreshingly unapologetic approach to ambition and motherhood to Dava from my 2021 novel, I took a chance and tagged Lindsay when I shared this story. Thrilled she reshared it, giving me the opportunity to introduce my book to her fans.

It also proved to me that my older books have value and can be a part of current conversations. Going forward I’ll be focusing more on backlist: not just mine but reading other authors’ too.
