As a Roman Catholic priest I can assert that Roman Catholics do not believe he is in Purgatory. He might be there if he repented before he died. He might also be in Heaven. And he might also be in Hell. There is absolutely no way for any human being to know. He was judged immediately upon death in the particular judgment. There is no waiting for judgment. He has been judged and sentenced. What Protestants believe is heretical and irrelevant.
