The United Arab Emirates no longer funds its students coming to Britain because of the risk of radicalisation. An Arab country worried that sending its young to the home of Shakespeare and Churchill risks turning them into ISIS wannabes. This has all happened in living memory, a nightmare created by a political class that has spent more energy gaslighting people to cover for its own stupidity than governing a country. Little wonder that the UK is now an economic basket case, with a growing far right of the kind we thought we'd buried last century, and a capital city resembling Weimar Germany without the cabaret. Great job, everyone.
