I'm a lifelong Democrat who believes that we need a functioning two-party system in the country. A pendulum swings both ways to keep time and make progress. A single party in charge leads to hubris and certain failure. However, today's GOP is a band of MAGA extremists hellbent on destroying our democratic and judicial norms, personal liberty, national security and climate. Neither reason nor shame seem to work to change their direction; Tuberville and his MAGA ilk must be soundly and roundly turned out of office and replaced with staunch moderates.
