I’ve been on Substack for just two days, and already, I feel like I can breathe again!
It’s like stepping outside after being locked in a room with no ventilation for years. Just air. A fresh, clean, unpolluted breeze that smells like possibility.
No algorithms squeezing my voice into some tiny little box. No MAGA trolls popping up every five minutes to call me an ape, a monkey, the n-word, the b-word, or the c-word, or threatening to r*pe or blow my brains out.
This Supreme Court is one of the most political in history. Especially Thomas and Scalia. ACB seems to have grown a conscience to some extent and even Kavanaugh has disappointed MAGA somewhat. But this guy… Thomas.. yeah he’s as corrupt as they come. He doesn’t even try to hide it.
It’s about damn time. AOC is a hero. She’s one of the best out there, fighting daily against Trump’s fascist bullshit.

I think history demonstrates that killing the people who disagree with you is never a lasting resolution, TCinLA. In this case, wanting to kill some of the people who want to destroy democracy because they don’t want to live by the essential principles of democracy, damages democracy in and of itself. Freedom to make personal choices, taking responsibility for the choices you make, respect for others and the rule of law-these are not easy principles to live by. Right now we have a number of peo…
Although it took little while, the earliest white power on this land annihilated vast numbers of indigenous people here who are greatly marginalized and still have no power or voice. They may beg to differ thinking killing off their people was not a lasting resolution by those who think they are superior.
I am always shocked, when I visit friends at Pine Ridge, at how many of them accepted the white man's religion even today. Their own nature-based spiritual paths are so connected with gratitude…
For me, the essential trust I had in our institutions as basically trying to “do the right thing” has been trampled. I’m not naive but as a child of the ‘60’s/‘70’s I saw the striving to do the right thing. The power accrual of the ‘90’s saw us asleep at the wheel, manipulated by those seeking their riches. Who knew it would take such a self serving clown to wake me. We must assure that our institutions hold, and I’m encouraged by all those, including here, that are working to ensure they do.
“If you try to intimidate a judge, you’re often confirming to the judge the necessity of her or his ruling. And some judges take acts of intimidation as a kind of personal insult. They don’t become afraid. They just get mad.
We should be grateful for that anger. It’s stiffening their backs, not altering their reasoning. The combination of dedication to the rule of law and a kind of “How dare you?” stubbornness in the face of intimidation is resulting…
