We've tested 30 B2B growth tools in the last year. Only 8 got A/B grades.
The rest were either too broad, too isolated or too expensive to see value.
Our grading rubric:
1. Automates existing tasks vs chasing AI delusions of grandeur
2. Live in 1 day
3. Impact in 1 week
4. No engineering support.
5. Plays nice with core stack
Here's our list of A/B grades:
Apollo IO (A) to orchestrate multi-person in warm outbound
Relay(A) to act like Zapier on steroids
Riverside (A) to record our founder podcast
Buzzsprout (A-) to syndicate the podcast
Airops (B-) to coordinate content refreshes in Webflow
Dock (B) to create a quick "deal room" with templates
Salesflow (B) to automate some simple LinkedIn flows
Rb2b (B-) to surface some intent-based signals
We tried a few other categories that didn't make the list: 1:1 video, storytelling tools for case studies, click analytics.
We also tried 1-2 competitors for each.
If you're evaluating anything in these categories, I'm happy to share what worked, what didn't, or what I learned the hard/$ way.
