Reber & Schwarz ran a study in 1999 where they showed people identical statements in different fonts. Moderately legible statements were judged as mostly true. Clear statements were judged as overwhelmingly true. Same words, different perception of truth.
Cognitive ease is a credibility multiplier.
The dense paragraphs don't just lose attention. They quietly lose trust before the reader even knows why.
If you want to be believed, make it easy to read first.
