Good thinking in this. I’d add that AI systems built on well-designed competency articulations (rather than merely inferences based on user interactions) will be both more accurate and more useful, at least in K-12, by providing teachers rich data through AI dashboards.
So long as reporting is still a need, which it will be for parents at least, and likely for micro-credentials, especially in an era where we must distinguish between authentic competence and AI-driven task performance, I think competencies articulated in curricula will matter.
