They (corporate goons, government profiteers and their RCMP enforcers) started cutting the ancient trees on December 11th but despite being arrested (and then catch and released by corrupt RCMP because they do not want to deal with the court as the arrests were illegal) forest defenders hiked back up through the mountainside, in heavy cold rainstorms to set up blockades again yesterday, and again today. They have successfully stopped the majority of heavy equipment from being able to get in there to decimate the forest so far (only one section of river was decimated, shown in the video in my most recent post.)

Thankfully there are very dedicated and courageous people that are putting their lives and freedom on the line to protect the thousand year old plus trees in that watershed by blocking the roads, laying in front of machinery, filling up logging equipment tire wells with instant cement, hanging themselves 150feet up in the air in the ancient cedar canopies on platforms so that if the corporations want to cut down the trees, they`ll have to kill people too and chaining themselves to giant boulders on the road so it takes cops hours to remove them before cutting can continue (so all hope is not lost yet for that ancient watershed).

My other half feels this is not just about profits, but is part psyop related in that those that want to keep humanity spiritually impoverished, easily manipulated and feeble would like to erase all of the peak expressions of God’s original architecture and expressions of health and wholeness (which are expressed in ancient forests) so that future generations will have stunted imaginations, no models for resilience to learn from and will be starved of the spiritual nourishment that God intended ancient forests to provide humanity as the living Cathedrals that they are.

She may be onto something there, as people suffering from generational amnesia that have never been in an ancient forest are more easily manipulated, less inspired and less capable of both perceiving beauty and creating beauty in my experience.

This goes to show how important it is we do not let them succeed and support the forest defenders by raising awareness.

“HAPPENING NOW : Early this morning (Dec 13th) a land defender climbed into a giant cedar tree that was set to be cut down later today. A crew snuck undetected past 10km of exclusion zones, patrol cars and police checkpoints to set up this tree sit which now protects the last few ancient cedars in the upper walbran clear cut. Rings on the adjacent stump place these twin cedars around 600 years old. Make that 600 years and 1 day.

There is now a new active tree sit in the upper Walbran Valley. As of last night a total of 26 people have now been arrested trying to prevent continued old growth logging.

From Lake Cowichan head towards Honeymoon Bay. From Honeymoon Bay ppdrive 21 km along S Shore Rd until the road splits, turn left onto Caycuse Main.

Follow Caycuse Main for 11 km until the road splits, then turn left onto McClure Main.

Follow McClure Main until you are on the north side of McClure Lake. Camp is located on a spur road into the clearcut. You will see us.
