They take his remarks out of context to portray a story that says “look all their efforts were for nothing as it was cut down anyways and it costs lots of tax money for police enforcement and court systems, so do not be stupid like these tree hugging hippies and try to protest as you are wasting your time”. youtube.com/watch?v=415… It is propaganda aimed to dissuade activists and tell the public that such movements are pointless.
