Make money doing the work you believe in
The following is in reference the post on Wolves linked below (which is paywalled for comments) so I am reposting here.
Here where I live in southwestern Ontario (in a similar story to my ancestor’s homelands in Ireland and Scotland) wolves were hunted to extinction over a century ago. The ecological impacts of that arrogant and fearful action on the part of an ecologically illiterate invasive orphaned culture (European statists) have been severe (as now herbivore beings such as deer and rabbits prevent the natural seedling and growth of the next generation of long lived trees, in the few areas where trees are still allowed to naturally grow).
In august of 2025 I was blessed to embark on an expedition into one of the last ancient forest valleys that is intact on the scale of a watershed in southern Canada (Fairy Creek). What I, my family and my wife witnessed when we trekked into that ancient forest valley was truly humbling and breathtaking. We saw the forest as it has been since before industrial destruction of forests began, we saw that ecosystem through the lens of timelessness and were able to see the full biodiversity spectrum intact.
Among the beings and signs of beings we witnessed there (including signs of Grizzly bears, Wolverines, Spotted owls, Fishers and endangered mountain marmots) was signs of the illusive (and endangered) Vancouver Coastal sea wolf (Canis lupus crassodon). We saw den sites with distinct coastal wolf hunted prey carcasses and bones nearby and tracks in the lower valley.
It was so heartening to know that some of them still provide their sacred gifts to the ecosystem in the southern reaches of the place now known by most as “Canada”.
I would be grateful if you (and anyone else reading this) would help me get the word out about Fairy Creek and the importance of protecting rare forest valleys like that if you are able as in September of this year the Canadian government may make a court decision that licenses logging corporations to clearcut the headwaters of that extremely rare and endangered forest habitat.
