One of my tiny quince trees is making beautiful flowers for the first time. Quince require a pollinating partner, and unfortunately this tree’s partner is younger and not yet making flowers yet. There won’t be any fruit this year. Perhaps next year. In the meantime, I’m still thrilled to see the blooms. Between the big, blousy flowers and the velvety soft leaves, quince is a gorgeous tree. In a few years time this will be a stunner. One day I hope to sit underneath the low canopy of these two trees I planted side-by-side.
