Is spiritual formation hard work, or serious play?
Play is an emotional and imaginative state. It is a primary way we learn. Children know this instinctively. They discover the world through delight, repetition, imagination, and especially experimentation.
Adults, despite our spreadsheets, are no different.
Play is serious because it forms us. It teaches flexibility, resilience, creativity, and trust. It trains us to remain present, connected, and open to surprises.
