Founded in 2009, the Carpathian Brigade represents a unique case in the landscape of European organised support.

Unlike the vast majority of ultra groups, which emerge spontaneously from local club fanbases, the Brigade was the result of a calculated political manoeuvre orchestrated by the Fidesz party, which was still in opposition at the time.
